First, without you and the rest of our community, MusicExplained would be nothing so your privacy is extremely important to us and you have our fullest commitment in protecting your information provided to us. Please read this policy carefully and we we will do our utmost to inforrm you of any future changes we make.
MX Ltd , is the owner of MusicExplained.co.uk. We are committed to protecting the personal information we collect. By disclosing any information to us, you agree to the collection, storage and use of such information as set out in the following Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
We follow strict procedures as set by the UK data protection act 1998, in the storage and disclosure of information, which applies to any order information as well as any correspondence entered. We will never rent, trade or sell any personal data to any third party companies, unless compelled by law to do so, applying our Terms and Conditions and/or protecting the rights of the MusicExplained community.
No personal information is required to access the website, but in order to actively participate and become a member, we require only a valid email, username and password. We offer further options to personalise your profile further once you become a member of the community. Based on your preferences and involvement within the community, this information enables us to recommended content to your taste and match you with others with similar tastes.
We will track all unregistered and anonymous users by logging the IP (Internet Protocol), address of the users computer.
We do not provide any third parties with any personable identifiable information, however we do log and use statistical information as aggregate and we may share demographic information with our partners and advertisers. We will not use this as personable identifiable information because of the anonymity afforded by your username. However, any action by the user which discards this anonymity, we cannot be held responsible that others might be able to personally identify you. If you believe something like this has occurred with you, please contact us and we will issue you with a new username and password.
Your security is of utmost importance to us. We will protect your information as we protect ours by securing all files, networks, user id and passwords (Awaiting clarifications from you).
MusicExplained is available to everyone, but we encourage all those under 13 to consult with their parents before registering an account with us. We cannot be held liable for responsibility as duty of care resides with parents and their responsibility to monitor, supervise, and take whatever action deemed necessary.
MusicExplained offers message boards, forums and private messaging, and we may monitor these for any inappropiate behaviour deemed insulting to others and remove at any time. Please also be aware that if you decide to personally communicate or meet up with any other community member of MusicExplained, you do so at your own risk and we cannot be held liable for any consequences. Please use caution and discretion when engaging through communication outside of the MusicExplained network.
All emails except for administrative are all controllable by you. You have the option to opt in for semi-regular newsletters and announcements of new features and updates. We also notify any updates made to your profile such as new friend requests, forum comments subscribed too and private messages etc. If a user would like to refer a friend, we offer an easy address book import for the most common email providers and we never save the addresses contained.
MusicExplained may contain links to other sites. Please be aware of the private policies of such sites as we cannot be held liable for how they treat information about their users.
Cookies are used by our website for tracking purposes which allow us to identify valid users and help personalise your MusicExplained experience. Unfortunately, if you do decide to disable cookies, a significant amount of MusicExplained´s functionality will be tempered and you may have difficulties registering and logging in. The information collected can only be read by us and not by any third party outside of MusicExplained.
